Expect to find community

At Siegfried, people are compassionate, caring and supportive, bringing out the best in you.

As of July 2024, I have been with Siegfried for one year, although it does not feel like it has been only a year. I am so fortunate to be among some amazing chemists and leaders. They have made me feel like I have always been here learning and growing alongside them. My former manager to whom I reported to at my old company for over 10 years brought me into the Siegfried team. They had an open position here in the Quality Control Lab and felt I was the perfect fit due to my diverse set of skills. Upon my interview, I clicked immediately with the management team here and felt at ease. Over this past year, I can confidently say that the work culture here is like no other. I have never felt so supported and understood in my entire professional career. Siegfried truly is a welcoming place for everyone who joins.

A typical workday for me depends on the tasks at hand. I perform many functions from coordinating waste disposal for the lab, reconciling products and reagents to their respective inventories, to supporting management in various projects. I am responsible for making sure the cogs of the Quality Control lab are well supplied and moving freely.  I am told quite frequently that the lab works much more smoothly since I have joined. Although the compliment makes me smile, it also makes me feel determined to always perform at my best to support those around me.

I previously came from a topical pharmaceutical company so my involvement with controlled substances was very limited. The skills and knowledge I have obtained during my short time here have been astonishing. Learning how laboratory management software can track and show so much about a product is extremely interesting, not to mention the care and attention given to our products here. I have found myself pouring over procedures and asking a million questions to absorb as much as I can, fueled by curiosity and the drive to know more. It has most surprisingly helped me in other ways beyond learning; it has also increased my self-confidence and helped me thrive in ways I did not anticipate by giving me the courage to be more myself and stand on my own.

What I like the most at Siegfried is an easy question to answer: the people! I have worked in several different places over the years from a martial arts studio to a college to being a security guard to dispatching police to being in the sciences and out of all the different companies, I have worked for I can say Siegfried has by far been my favorite. The people here are compassionate, thoughtful, caring and a joy to see on a daily basis. I can be a bit introverted and shy when it comes to interacting with people, but I find it so easy to do so when I am at Siegfried. I look forward to coming here and working alongside my colleagues because they foster such an amazing culture here. I have built what I feel are strong connections and friendships that make the workday more engaging and fun.

I am looking forward to learning more about the stability program and seeing how it differs from my existing knowledge and how they are alike. I look forward to the challenges that may arise taking on new aspects of the programming that will happen alongside those activities. I have always loved taking on a new project, especially when it can broaden the scope of my knowledge and skill set. I am always willing to tackle something new or difficult in an effort to not only give back to the company but to push myself to the limits and see how far I can extend my expertise.
