General information
Mepivacaine is a local anesthetic with an amino-amide function, which interrupts the propagation of nerve impulses along the nerve fiber at the injection site. It has a slightly vasoconstrictive action, which allows it to be used without a vasoconstrictor or with a reduced level of vasoconstrictor. Mepivacaine is mainly used as local anesthesia for peripheral nerve block or in dental application.
