When I first joined Siegfried in 2009, I was seeking an apprenticeship that would allow me to dive straight into the work environment. I wanted something different, something hands-on, and working with chemicals seemed like an exciting path.
For three years, I trained as an apprentice in chemical production, immersing myself in the practical aspects of chemical production. In 2012, after I completed my apprenticeship, I transitioned to working shifts in production. While I enjoyed the dynamic nature of shift work, it was challenging to align my schedule with my personal life, particularly meeting friends on weekends. To address this, I started studying part-time for a technician degree in system engineering while continuing my shift work.
Balancing studies and shift work was tough, so I sought a role with more typical hours and moved to the TCR 5 department, where I was responsible for qualifying new assets. This change allowed me to work during the day and study part-time, eventually completing my studies after three years. Upon graduation, I explored new opportunities within Siegfried and was involved in a project focusing on the reuse of assets. This experience opened doors for further roles, and I eventually moved into a maintenance position.
Throughout these 15 years, Siegfried has been instrumental in my professional growth. The company supported my development, but it was also crucial for me to actively engage with colleagues and managers, expressing my interest to evolve within the company, and showcasing my abilities and taking on new projects. This proactive approach led to my current role in maintenance coordination, where I ensure production runs smoothly and on time.
What I appreciate most about Siegfried is the sense of community. The close connections with my colleagues and the supportive environment make every role feel comfortable and collaborative. As I look to the future, I am excited about the opportunity to innovate and develop new strategies in my area. I am eager to be part of the positive changes happening here.
